Meet The Coaching Staff
Patrick Ritchie
Head Coach
Coach Pat is in his sixth year as head coach of the Scorpion Wrestling Club. He also has over ten years of wrestling coaching experience at the high school and youth level and received USA Wrestling Bonze Level Coaching certification in 2005.
Coach Pat is the former head wrestling coach for Archbishop Rummel High School and Team Louisiana. His wrestler's include high school place winners, state champions, and All-Americans that have gone on to be NCAA Division I, II, and III college wrestlers.
Coach Pat attended Colby Community College where he wrestled for Coach Steve Lampe. Coach Pat was also the varsity letterman at the University of Nebraska Kearney under Coach Marc Bauer where he received Academic All-American status before transferring to Tulane.
Patrick spent his prep career at Archbishop Rummel High School where he was a 2 x Louisiana State Champion and Brute Nationals All-American.
Coach Pat's wife, Jessica, works as the head of the SWC Parent's Club. They have one son that currently wrestles for the SWC.
Jerry Crump
Director
Coach Jerry has returned to the Scorpion Wrestling Club to act as the club Director. He has over 30 years of wrestling coaching experience and is the only USA Wrestling Silver certified coach in the state of Louisiana.
Coach Jerry is the former head and assistant wrestling coach for Archbishop Rummel High School and the Team Louisiana Freestyle and Greco-Roman national teams. He has also acted as the strength and conditioning coach for high school and college athletes.
Coach Jerry's dedication to the sport spans across generations and has now seen his wrestlers go on to coach the sport as well.
As director he is responsible for oversight of the clubs curriculum and competition readiness.
KeVon Powell
Head Assistant Coach
Coach KeVon is an accomplished wrestler and coach who brings his wealth of wrestling knowledge to the Scorpion Wrestling Club.
Coach KeVon is a former NCAA Division wrestler at Ohio University with a well decorated high school career, where he was a Junior World Champion, Greco-Roman National Champion, six-time National All-American, and an Illinois state champion.
KeVon has also been a two-time world team trial finalist and is currently wrestling at the USA Wrestling Senior level.
Coach Kevon is also the assistant coach at Archbishop Rummel High School and Team Louisiana Head Coach.

Chad Ravannack
Assistant Coach
Coach Chad was a member of the first Scorpion Wrestling Club teams, which was founded by his father, James "Jim" Ravannack. He now gives back to the club that gave him his foundation of the sport.
Coach Chad's experience includes youth and high school coaching experience in both Louisiana and Oklahoma. Chad was a youth wrestling club coach in Stillwater, Oklahoma at the Cowboy Wrestling Club for 3 years and returned home and has coached at the Scorpion Wrestling Club for 3 years.
Chad is a graduate of Oklahoma State University where he attended for 4 years and attained a varsity lettermen under Coach John Smith, an Olympic Gold Medalist and one of the best collegiate coaches in history.
Coach Chad's competitive accolades include AAU and Brute Nationals All-American status and 5 Junior Regional Championship titles between Greco-Roman and Freestyle. He was also a Louisiana high school state runner-up in 2004.
Chad is instrumental in club recruitment, advertising, and booking and promotion of elite level wrestling clinicians and camps.
John Calcote
Assistant Coach
Coach John began wrestling at 4 years old and was a member of one of the first Scorpion Wrestling Club teams.
Coach John is a former wrestler at Archbishop Rummel High School under the training of Coach Pat and Coach Jerry, where he completed his competitive career as a 2 x LHSAA Division 1 State Champion. He was also a 2 x All-American and Freestyle and Greco-Roman Louisiana State champion.
Coach John has coached youth and high school wrestling for 3 years and an integral part to the competition coaching staff.
John is self-employed owner of Calcote Heating and Air Conditioning.
Spencer Dussoy
Assistant Coach
Coach Spencer was a member of one of the first Scorpion Wrestling Club teams and has over 10 years of wrestling experience as a coach and competitor.
Coach Spencer is a former wrestler at Archbishop Rummel High School under the training of Coach Pat and Coach Jerry, where he completed his competitive career as an LHSAA Division 1 State Runner-Up.
Spencer is a graduate of Louisiana State University with a degree in Petroleum Engineering.
Coach Spencer is in his 5th year as assistant coach with the Scorpion Wrestling Club and is an integral part of demonstrating technique, core values, and competition readiness.

Coach Desmond is in his fifth year coaching with the Scorpion Wrestling Club. His dedication to give back to the next generation comes from his experience as a wrestler for Archbishop Rummel High School where he competed under Coach Pat and Coach Jerry. Desmond wrestled for 5 years and finished as a varsity letterman graduating in 2006.
Desmond was member of the Scorpion Wrestling Club, Archbishop Rummel High School, and Team Louisiana national team and wrestled in local and national competition.
Coach Desmond is a graduate of LSU and UNO, where he received a degree in Business Management and master's degree in Business Administration, respectively.
Coach Preston has coached high school and youth wrestling for over 10 years. He was a LHSAA Division 1 state place winner while at Archbishop Rummel High School under the instruction of Coach Jerry. Coach Preston also wrestled Freestyle and Greco-Roman for Team Louisiana in national competition. He is a graduate of Tulane University and is the CFO of Cory, Tucker, and Larrowe, Inc.
Coach Arnaldo has also returned to wrestling after many years. He is a former wrestler with Riverdale High School and joins Coach Pat, Spencer, Chad, and Tim as parent/coaches to a second generation of wrestlers.
